The Guangdong Province's evening gala celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, with the theme of "Flowers Blooming in the New Era", was broadcast nationwide through CCTV's Variety Channel at 9 p.m. on December 20.
The evening party was full of wonderful performances, and 800 drones performed "New Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon", bringing the audience an unprecedented realm of beauty. This drone formation performance was jointly created by Gaoju Zero and Ehang Egret, two of the top domestic drone formation performance teams. From artistic design to technical realization to flawless on-site implementation, both teams worked hard and fulfilled their respective responsibilities to tailor a visual feast for this evening party that integrates light and shadow technology, modern art, and Lingnan culture.
The unique folk-style "New Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" sounded between the fingers and keys of piano artist Wu Muye. A starry sky lit up above the stage. The drone formation changed into shapes that were rich in Guangdong characteristics and full of fashion, such as "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon", "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge", and "Flowers Blooming in the New Era", following the music, creating a light and shadow show for the audience.
The most shocking of all is the three-dimensional shape of the Maritime Silk Road. Nearly a thousand drones form the "Earth", with lines radiating from "Guangzhou" to all parts of the world. It is dazzling and spectacular.
The 3D kapok flower symbolizing Guangzhou slowly bloomed, followed by "a hundred flowers blooming", which not only echoed the theme of the evening party, but also implied the beautiful scene of economic prosperity, scientific and technological progress, and people's happy life under reform and opening up. The slogan "1978-2018 Reform and Start Again" expressed Guangdong's determination to "reform without stopping and open up without stopping".
With wonderful and varied shapes and gorgeous lights, drone formations are more environmentally friendly than fireworks and more flexible than large screens. They have rich cultural connotations and innovative forms of display, making them the darlings of major celebrations!
